CELEBREX HEALTH RISK NOTICE
On December 17th, 2004, Pfizer Pharmaceutical announced a new study to investigate evidence that Celebrex may play a role in heart attacks and strokes. Only a weeks before, Vioxx, a chemically similar drug to Bextra, was withdrawn from the market because of of evidence linking it to stroke and heart attack.
Bextra (Valdecoxib) a popular pain killer is used to treat arthritis and primary dysmenorrhea. The drug received FDA approval in 2001.
Bextra is one of a series of drugs called "Cox-2 inhibitors." The problem is that Cox-2 drugs, such as Vioxx, have been related to heart attacks and strokes. Vioxx was removed from the market on September 30, 2004 and Pfizer Pharmaceutical, the maker of Celebrex, is now studying possible side effects and it is possible the drug may be removed from the market.
The most common related problems with Bextra are:
- Heart attacks
- Strokes
- Stevens Johnson Syndrome
If you or a member of your family has any of these conditions above and has taken Bextra, then you may qualify for a lawsuit claim. Thousands of people have already filed claims.
Because pharmaceutical companies are marketing a dangerous product, they have liability, similar to how Ford had liability for selling a dangerous car like the Pinto. This means that Celebrex victims and their families have the right to file a claim for compensation for these illnesses.
In America today there are thousands of class actions and billions of dollars in unclaimed monies available for victims. If you have been wronged by a major corporation, you may be entitled to compensation.
Class-Action-Lawsuits.com is a service to help individual victims and their families find updated information and help through our network of class action attorneys. If you qualify, help may just be a click away. |
